Greetings.

I'm new to these forums and I registered because you could probably help me out with my problem.
The thing is I recently installed windows 7 and when I resize a window or when I drag it anywhere, my computer will suddenly freeze. Mouse & keyboard doesn't respond either.
Everything seems pretty dead so that forces me to shut down my computer. I don't know what the problem may be, probably my hardware doesn't support Win7? I have no idea.

My computer is like 3 years old or something similar... This is my hardware:

Motherboard: Intel d915gag
Graphics: They're integrated, 64MB I think and the name is Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
RAM: 1024 MB
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHZ
Soundcard: Sound Blaster Live! 24-Bit [not the external one]

I have no idea if you need more specifications about my computer.

Regards,
Thuriel

PS: Sorry if this isn't the right board to post this.
PS2: This didn't happen on Windows XP

Check event viewer for problems. Go to device manager and check your video cards and drivers. Make sure you have the most up to date video card.

Take the memory diagnosis test. Just type the words memory diagnosis in search.

You are kind of thin in RAM, (1gig), video (64mb integrated) etc. Have you run the compatibility wizard to see if your hardware can run win 7 with aero?

@Richc~ Everything was fine in that area and all my drivers are the latest.

@Zigzag Yes, I did that before installing Windows 7. The only problem was that my video card isn't compatible with Aero, other than that it said it was fine.

If you are freezing there should be a mention in event viewer. Have you looked in event viewer>windows logs>application tab for critical errors that say app hang, or app crash?

They should be there and if they are we need the event ID and source codes.

I suspect a computer freeze would be a critical error not just an information level. Is there any critical errors around the same time?
