[SOLVED FAST w/ Northernsoul55] Computer freezing at Boot Screen

First, Im sorry if i am in the wrong subforum because I couldn't find a subforum other than this to address my problem

My computer freezes at the BOOT screen (where ASUS logo and the phrase "Press DEL to enter BIOS setup" is seen). To temporarily fix this, I press DEL multiple times to enter the BIOS before it starts to freeze and then exit (not making any changes in BIOS) so that it will go directly to "Starting Windows". I was not alarmed when the first time this happen but then it happened again a few days later! It does not happen everytime when I boot up the system but it never did it before so I know there must be something wrong. I dont want to wait to the point that it will not anymore go past the BOOT so I want to address this problem now before it gets any worse. THANKS SevenForums! (BTW: specs below)

The first thing I would suggest trying is a Start up repair as a common reason for Windows to freeze up
or reboot automatically during the Windows startup process is because one or more important Windows
files are damaged or missing:

I dont have a Windows 7 disc

No problem, create a System Repair Disc

Also you could try Running a System File Check first to see if that helps?:


Run SFC to check the integrity of all Windows 7 system files:

• Click on Start > Type in search cmd
  Right-click cmd after results are displayed and Run as Administrator
  Type SFC /scannow at the prompt
  (Note: There is a space between SFC and /scannow)

   Note

Select option two. If any problems are found, run the scan 3 times and immediately
reboot the computer after each scan.

Done creating the repair disc and now doing the sfc /scannow

Okay sir so it found corrupted files and was able to fix them It asked that I reboot so I did and for the sureness, I ran sfc /scannow again and it didnt find any corruptions in the integrity YEHEY!

Should I still run Startup Repair sir?

Hi,

If the SFC has resolved your issue then i wouldnt bother with the Startup repair?

If this is the case can you please mark the thread as solved.
