Solved Computer hangs up

So it happens two or three times per day. I have noticed this as i was browsing the internet (gogle chrome ) , more specific when i open a new tab or switch between opened tabs . the computer hangs up for about 3-4 seconds. the sound stops and i can only move the muse pointer . what can be the cause?

My specs :
Asus x54C laptop
4GB RAM
2.2 GHZ dual core Intel processor
500 GB memory
64 Bit Windows 7 Ultimate

Hello Dani02,

In addition to Mitchell65 his question;

1. Do you have many addons / extensions installed?
2. When this happens, do you have many tabs open?
3. Are you using your browser for a prolonged time without a restart when this occurs?

And for a tad more info, please check the following when the problem occurs;

1. Click on the
   
   .
2. In the Search programs and files
   
   bar, please type "Task Manager" and select the first program out of the displayed list.
3. In the Task Manager, please go to the Processes tab.
4. Search for an entry called Chrome.exe.
   Alternatively, if you can not find this entry, please click on the Applications tab, and right click on Chrome. In the context menu, click on Go To Process.
5. In the Memory tab, what is the number displayed there (How much memory is Chrome currently using)?

well i started using firefox for a few hours and tryed to force it..lots of tabs opened etc but everything works good no lag no hang ups . About Chrome i can say that it isn't because of many tabs opened because one day it froze at the second tab only . Right now,with only two tabs opened , Chrome.exe usses between 30-103 k memory

Then stick to FF or IE. Personally I have found that Chrome spends a lot of energy absorbing as much info about your browsing habits to sell of to advertisers that you are better off without it! Tat's just my opinion, of course!

See if there are any Extensions listed you don't recognize in Chrome,
Also post a picture of the Extensions page,

Might want to hang on to FireFox then..

Could still be an extension problem, could you make a screenshot of the chrome://extensions/ page?

That seems good, but how much memory is Chrome using right after it happens?

Personally I have found that Chrome spends a lot of energy absorbing as much info about your browsing habits to sell of to advertisers that you are better off without it!

Agree that Chrome and any installed Google program or remaining signed into a Google site including YouTube is allowing an intrusive profile to be built of you which is sold to advertisers. This is imitated by many other freeware vendors to help pay for their wares too. For this reason I allow no installed Google, no updaters, search services, tool bars, etc. I also opt-out of everything that spies using Consumer Opt-out | NAI: Network Advertising Initiative

Strip all Add-ons out of your other safe browsers and allow only Adobe Flash and its Reader helper. Uninstall add-ons or any programs you don't recognize or use regularly in Programs and Features. Then run SUPERAntiSpyware.com to root them out of the registry where they can continue running even after uninstall otherwise. Turn off SAS Updater and Starting with Windows.

Run a clean boot with only your AV starting with Windows. Startup Programs - Change

How is it that you have expensive Ultimate on a PC which ships with a free copy of Home Premium?
