Unfortunately for the past month, I've had to deal with the fact that my computer would randomly freeze and audio would start making really weird, elongated noises or it would just go to blue screen at completely random moments. Naturally, I've updated the drivers and made attempts to cool the comp (the standby temp is around 42 C whereas playing videogames puts it to 59 C, is this ok?), but every now and then, it just freezes, evident by the loud noise that comes from my comp freezing.

What is wrong with my computer? I just dont understand what I can do, when ive updated all the software and I keep the temp down.

Help?

Alright, after a long while, I've done all of the 0x124 except for doing a fresh reinstall (namely due to the fact that I have no way of getting another copy of Win7 to risk it) but the problem still persists to an annoying degree. What do I do know? What does the info that I've presented in the OP even mean?

It is stated in Step #9 :
9) If all else fails, start removing items of hardware one-by-one in the hope that the culprit is something non-essential which can be removed. Obviously, this type of testing is a lot easier if you've got access to equivalent components in order to perform swaps.

Have you done it too, and it also resulted in nothing?

I own a laptop, so I don't think that I can do that...or can I? The HDD checks out fine

Update: Every now and then when it freezes and resolves (not BSOD), it says that the display driver stopped working and has been resolved. I've updated my display driver to the most recent software, but this hasn't changed anything...

My GPU is integrated and it's called Intel HD Graphics.

Display driver stopped working and has been recovered, evev if it is Intel HD graphics?

I have never experienced such an issue. With nvidia or ati it commonly happenns.

Are you under warranty? Is so ask your vendor for a replacement. But before that, run dxdiag and check for exactly whar driver do you need. Download and install it.

Sorry that i cannot check it for you right now and cannot send you the links. I am using a phone to browse now, and will be on my computer after six more hours.

Try if you can. Otherwise I will assist you that time that i said.

I did a scan thing at the intel website, and it says that this is the most recent one

My warranty ran out a year ago unfortunately :(. Coincidental in fact, since this started happening a couple months later.

If you dont mind, at first I will suggest you to use a cooling pad. Heat may cause it.

Use Speccy to check the system heat.

I already use an external cooling fan that displaces my laptop above the desk.

I use speedfan (I think it does a good job) and what it reports my core at around 39 C when I'm doing typical things but goes up to around 47 C when watching HQ vids and then 55 C when playing PC games on the lowest settings. other than the PC game temp, are these bad temps?

We need more than just the dmp files.

To another point:
You need to help us some more:

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
(left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info (a SF tutoria link with program to help you gather info.)

In the System Manufacturer Block, enter:
Ø Manufacturer and Model OR Custom build.
Ø ADD the word laptop, desktop, netbook or tablet.
For example:
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

With Speccy, you can select with your mouse/touchpad info from the display
and paste that info into your specs.

SIW is a marvelous program, but the free version does not offer
this capability.

Alright, after a while, I've updated my specs using Speccy and I've updated some stuff that I didn't even know needed updating. Here's the zip from the SF Diagnostic. Surprisingly today, my comp has yet to freeze...more on that later

Britton30,
He has a laptop, so that there is no real mobo info. In Windbg, see:
!sysinfo machineid

Speccy should enable him to give us more info regarding the memory. If not, then I've a script that should glean a little more than simply 4 GB.

Sorry for not replying for a couple of days but had to confirm that my computer was actually doing well. First off, I wanna thank all of y'all for your support. I'm really overjoyed that my laptop isn't freezing anymore and that can actually do something without fear of it crashing. Again, thank y'all for your help.

PS: Is it advisable to apply thermal heat paste to your heat sink fan for a premade laptop?

good to hear and thanks for the feedback. I would not do anything with the thermal paste since you'd have to do major surgery to get to it.
