Solved Computer keeps going to sleep even when settings are set to 'never'

I have an HP 255 G2 Notebook PC that I bought like new from a game pawn shop, I since then formatted and reinstalled w7. For the first week or better, it was working fine. maybe an occasional lag here and there, but now for the past three nights, the computer sleeps even when the 'put the computer to sleep' is set to 'never'. when I wake up, it if off and then I hit the power button and it says 'resuming windows'.

My screensaver is set to: "Reshiram Blue Flare" a instant storm screensaver I made (a search on the web says it might be a screensaver issue with screensaver named 'blank'.) But blank isn't even an option for me

I am running on AC power and always have been

restart your computer and before restarting it keep on tapping f8 advanced boot option will come up there you have to select disable automatic restart

That's for BSOD and system failures and Windows crashes which I am not currently experiencing. If that was the case, Windows would just boot up from scratch. Mine says 'resuming windows' as if the computer went to sleep. My computer is not restarting, it's sleeping. There isn't anything in the event viewer about those kind of crashes nor is there any 'unexpected shut down' or serious error pop up message when I wake the from computer sleep.

do power flee might b there could be any software fluctutaing in between that hold the power button for 10 sec and restart again

Hi,
Switch to a high performance power plan,
Laptops.. always run off the battery even if plugged into an outlet.

Could very well be the theme save the images separately and put them all in a folder and use it as your desktop image and screen saver slide show.. and see if that helps in a default 7 aero theme.

The images are saved in a folder in my user folder under /theme/Reshiram/ which has 2000 or so pictures in it. the theme uses only the images in the 'Reshiram' folder, therefore they all are in the same folder.

It has been 6 days since I posted. In that time it stayed awake 4 times, and sleeps twice alternated between two nights of staying awake, then two nights where it went to sleep, the last two nights it stayed awake.

Anything else I should try?

It sounds like the laptop was Hibernating (not Sleeping).
Look at the Advanced Power Settings, the Hibernate settings are listed under Sleep.

Hibernate would be my guess too. Does it say Resuming Windows when you power it up after this alleged sleep?

If Hibernate is also set to Never, then try turning off Screensaver.

Well, it has not done so in over a week so it resolved itself. I wonder if it was a WU or something, therefore I am marking this solved.
