Computer keeps on displaying a button that I've previously pressed.

As the title says, every time when I press a button (such as in Notepad, File > Open) the selection box will disappear, but the button itself that I clicked on stays there until I dim the screen. You can see an example with Pivot down below the link. This should help explain the problem.

Try updating graphic drivers.
Have you run some kind of tune up application that has modified system settings.
If so, run "sfc /scannow" (to do this type cmd in the start box, right click it and run as administrator)
