I installed 7 about 2 weeks ago and I love it, cept now every so often my computer makes this intermittent buzzing sound (not from the speakers from the actual computer). Is my hard disk dying? it sounds like it's coming from the front of the case (it's either the hard drive or the fan)

Check to see if anything on the case is loose and buzzing. I had an intermittent buzzing on a Dell desktop that drove me crazy until I finally found a plastic bezel on the front was slightly loose and causing the buzz.

Otherwise open the case and with the PC powered on maybe you can figure out where the noise is coming from.

Also if you have both your hard drives directly next to each other, i.e. one in bay 1 and one underneath it in bay 2, a resonance can be caused while spinning, which creates an annoying buzzing noise. I had it on my PC, but can be fixed by just spacing them out a bit.

@fireberd: that doesn't surprise me, every dell I've ever had has had some problem where it makes a constant buzzing noise.

I fixed it now, I don't really know what was wrong, but I left my pc off overnight and that seemed to fix it.
