Hi there
Last night i updated the drivers from 11.8 to 11.9 for my Radeon HD 6850, I got to the part of the install where it installs the engine for the graphics adapter and it just crashed, the entire computer just froze. I had this exact same problem when i first got my new card, so i followed the steps i did back then, booted in safe mode, used driver sweeper to clean out all ATI products and rebooted, the computer started and i tried to install the drivers again, but still, it froze in the exact same place. After that try it would freeze my computer about 30 seconds after bootup, i tried reinstalling the old 11.8 drivers but still it crashed, i tried to do a system restore back to before i tried updating the first time but then when i booted the computer it would get past the welcome screen and just go black, the mouse would move but the screen just didnt respond, the computer was still active because i could hear the HDD inside my case. Also the problem persists even when i try to boot in safe mode. Help? D:

I dont know if you can uninstall the drivers in safe mode (uninstall the software pack or so...) other than just deleting stuff with driver sweeper.
So uninstall it.
Reboot.
Use driver sweeper only for removing left-over pieces of uninstalled drivers, so now you can use it.
Now install the latest driver.

This is all i can say, i dont know if these are possible in safe mode or in 30 seconds :/
Keep us informed! :)

edit: forget same mode then, just follow the steps

Like i said man i couldn't even access safe mode :/ but now i have it working again i'm gonna leave alone until AMD get back to me, i managed to install the 11.8 drivers without any issue, it just seems like the 11.9 one don't like me!
