Hi guys, my computer keeps overheating whenever im doing gaming or otherwise. It first started when i was playing a game on w7 and it crashed, and its been crashing ever since.

I have tried reinstalling w7 and it crashed while it was reinstalling. however xp is more stable and since then whenever i try to play a game my computer freezes so i have come to the conclusion that's its an overheating problem.

I am not sure if its my gpu because its at 66c right now and it normally goes up to 80c while gaming. but i am also not sure if its my system fan as my bios says its going at 800rpm and easy tune pro comes up with a warning saying its too slow.

Any help would be appreciated :)

80c is too much, and your fan does need to go faster. It may be louder, but its better than destroying your hardware by letting it overheat. No, I am not exaggerating.

Can you give us some more specifics? Is it one from a manufacturer? If so, make and model number? Did someone build it from scratch? What specs does it have?

That at least says you have either (or both) a Gigabyte video card or Gigabyte motherboard. Have you popped the side off yet to see if anything if clogged with dust, and if it is cleaned the dust out?

P.S. Filling out your system specs,

http://www.sevenforums.com/profile.php?do=extra

would help as well. If unsure what everything is this (get the portable version),

Speccy - Builds

should tell you the pertinent bits.

not fast enough
I know that when this happened to me, the damage was already done. The fan stopped so I was going to need to buy a new fan and some more of that heat paste stuff. I just got a new graphics card instead.

You might get lucky and get the card going properly again, but due to that heat it must have done some damage.

change your fan dude.... also buy an additional fan and fit it inside the CPU... cos AMD needs lots of cooling evn at normal temperatures...

make sure that your ventilation is perfect at your PC room... :)
