Try the easy way first. Make a new Adminisrator account and see it that works. If it does, I will tell you how to transfer everything to the new account, including desktop and favorities.

Lee,

are you talking about the UAC error? am not sure though. If you have UAC enabled to always notify, then you may get the information. Please check the below link for assistance.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/299-user-account-control-uac-change-notification-settings.html

If you still get the error please post a screen shot here, so that we will be able to help you further.

If you are getting UAC notifications like the prior poster said, that can be adjusted. I understood from your post that you cannot perform all functions because you are not recognized as ADM., which is it. Let us know so we can help.

Now
im
guessing you are the Administrator but you
haven't
ran the program as Admin, if its something like
spybot
you need to
rightclick
the shortcut on your desktop, and choose the run as admin option.

Wonderful advise, kyphe. I wasn't running my spybot as the administrator (even though I am the administrator), so, for some reason, it wasn't letting me fix remove/quarantine any problems b/c I wasn't the administrator.

But now I can get around that thanks to your advice.
Getting of around 700 adware/spyware infections will DEFINITELY help speed up my computer!!!
