Solved Computer screen gliches and usb doesnt work

I am using a HP pavilion g6 laptop using windows 7 and this is my problem:
My computer screen keeps glitching out every time after it says shutting down after I shut it down. I am forced to turn it off manually after that occurs. Also my USB ports aren't detecting any devices when I plug in pre-installed devices such as my USB mouse, however there is still power going through the USB ports. This all happened after my computer froze and I had to turn it off manually. It froze due to too many tabs open and a program installing and another program running at the same time when I was modding a game (I know that wasn't the smartest idea). I know this isn't a virus however because this happened before after I did a similar thing with the tabs being open and programs running, but it was fixed easy after I used windows update. However this is different because I tried to use windows update and it did the same screen glitch and the same problem accrued. I would be grateful if anybody can help fix this. Thanks.

Never mind, I got it fixed by running it in safe mode and restarting it. I hope that helped for anyone who has the same problem.
