This is somewhat peculiar and I'd liek some input on how to address it.

1. computers shuts down on its own

2. The shutdown is elegant, all programs close down quickly and there is no BSOD or anything

2b. it gives me the impression that the PC is acting as if someone ordered a shutdown with the -force option, closing all apps by brute force.

3. It almost always happens very late at night between 2 to 5 am.

4. I have yet to realize if there is a pattern to this whole thing. It seems random and happens 3-4 times a month

5. When i open the PC everything works like a charm.

6. I have scanned the PC with Microsoft security essentials, Avira antivir and malware bytes antimalware, and no sort of virus was found.

7. I have checked there is no overheating or anything, for mobo or graphic card.

Any clues? i am at a loss....

A scheduled shutdown for A scan?

Check event view for the time and processes running

To check for freezing/crashing you need to check several things.

1-Event viewer.
Type eventvwr in search and go to the windows log>application tab.
Look for errors. Errors have red in the left hand column.

Look for errors that say app hang, or app crash, or anything related to the problem.
When you find them either take a screenshot of them and upload them to us, or note the event ID and source codes and look them up in google. If you cant find them in google tell us what they are.
