Computer startup errors

If it doesn't prompt you then run with that for a while and see how it goes.

If it does prompt you then yes, run it from the disc.

After starting up I got BSOD'd. Here is a screencap of sorts (taken from my phone).

I turned my computer off and then back on and now it's running OK.

It crashed again, this time when I tried to switch users. Looks like I'm running Startup Repair... :(

My Computer

OS
64 bit Windows 7
Startup Repair was unsuccessful and resulted in a BSOD. Simply reads:

"STOP: c0000022 {Access Denied}
A process has requested access to an object, but has not been granted those access rights."

I don't have a dump file because I cannot access my Windows account to set it up.

Is there any hope?

There's always hope.

Go through the steps I've provided below. You may even want to go for broke and carry out a factory restore first. It's your call.

1. Start your computer in Safe Mode: Start your computer in safe mode If your computer runs in Safe Mode a bad driver is the most likely scenario.

2. Perform a Clean Boot: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 (On completion, you'll need to reset your computer to normal startup as per step 7 in the Clean Boot article).

3. Try Last Known Good Configuration: Using Last Known Good Configuration

4. Perform a system recovery from the Recovery Console: What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?

5. Resolving Stop (Blue Screen) errors in Windows 7: Resolving stop (blue screen) errors in Windows 7

6. Uninstall Norton A/V software.

7. If all else fails, you'll have to consider a factory restore to recover your computer to its out-of-box state.
