Computer still lagging badly after facotry reset.Not a virus afterall?

Hello everyone, my computer has been lagging notably for the last year or so. I can no longer play games online because it lags too much. I thought it could be a virus so I performed a factory reset with no luck at all. I also hear it making noises like it is struggling sometimes, not the beeping that happens when your PC notifies you that there is hard drive failure, but the hard drive itself grinding against something (if that makes any sense even). It is holding me back now then ever because I cannot train as a competitive gamer, please help! I have an HP Compaq pro 6200 SFF PC and am using windows 10 pro.

Download and run Hard Disk Sentinel.

I have had a number of hard drives fail over the years but none of them made a beeping noise.

sorry for the late response. Yeah I had a failing hard drive on my laptop once and it was beeping for months, until one day i notice a lot of my data was missing and I found out the hard way haha. I will try hard disk sentinel right now and let you know the results, thank you!

Could your CPU fan be failing? If it is then your CPU will overheat and thermothrottle. That means your computer will automatically slows the CPU to lower its temperature.

Do you have a program that will show the CPU temperature? If not the try Core Temp.

You showed the CPU temps but were they at idle or load while playing a game? Leave Core temp running and play a game for maybe 10 or 15 minutes. Exit the game and see how high the CPU temperature got.
