computer stopped auto updating upon shutdown/restart?

maybe about 2 weeks ago its started, where the update icon is always by the shutdown button but never updates?

Hi, Can you please elaborate the issue?

What I understood is the update icon which shows up after the updates are downloaded and installed and the PC asks to reboot. So, the icon is there. But, even if you reboot PC, it does not update.

Am I correct?

Hi archer, you know how when your computer is ready for an update it will show a icon by the shutdown button with a exclamation point inside a shield, even after several restarts and completely shutting it down then turning it back on by hand the icon is still there
once after i restarted my pc on the right hand side of my tool bar it showed that windows was downloading updates, but then it just disappeared and from what im assuming nothing installed
