recently my computer cant boot up and is stuck at starting windows, sometimes it even gets stuck at boot splash screen too(when this happens I turn off pc power and hold power button for a few seconds then it can again get past splash but gets stuck at starting windows).

When this happens I have to do a system restore, it will work again then a few days later the same thing happens.

I thought maybe the motherboard bios is corrupted or something, but after doing restore the pc works so I guess I can rule that out?

I think the culprit is a windows update because this started happening after a windows update was installed, also when I restore the pc to prior to the update it will boot up.

why is this happening? I'm using windows 7 professional, motherboard is gigabyte Z68ap D3 (or something like that -_-

There have been issues reported with the latest round of Windows Patch Tuesday updates.
Change your Windows Updates setting to check for updates but let me choose whether to install them.
Here is a tutorial by Brink that explains WU settings:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2797-windows-update-settings-change.html

Then install updates one at a time to find which one(s) are causing your issue.
If you find specific update(s) causing your issue post back with specific KBs.
One of the Windows Updates & Activation - Windows 7 Help Forums experts can probably give you the best advice.
