Hello, I'm trying to install Windows 7 64 bit on my new build but everytime I try and boot from the optical drive, the system doesn't recognize the disk. I'm running a GIGABYTE ga-f2a88xn-wifi and an AMD athlon x4 760k and apparently installing 64 bit windows is a common problem for this mobo but considering the OS won't start up at all I don't know if the problem is with my optical drive or disk. Sorry if I'm being too vague but any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks!

I couldn't even tell you, this is my friends build but I think he got all the parts on amazon. That's also a very encouraging winky face might I add...

Hello,

Don`t know if I read your first post correctly but seems to me that your disk isn`t bootable.
Can you open the disk when your in windows, you see the files on the disk?
Else I would recommend downloading a disk image and burning this on a dvd and try again.

But like I said don`t know if I read your first post correctly.

Replacing the disk and booting correctly is one of the steps in tutorial I linked. Work through the steps without skipping any. Ask back if you get stuck.
