A new drive and a fresh install is a great starting point.

To test your hard drive, download and run Crystal Disk then check the results.

CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World

Usually when a hard drive is failing there is an audible association which is pretty noticeable.

Could you provide more details regarding the Registry error message? Please post back an answer for further assistance.

I am not familiar with that error code portion in the parenthesis. You could try using CCleaner from Periform and select the registry cleaner to perform a registry repair.

Here's the link to the download site for CCleaner;

CCleaner - Standard

After installing CCleaner, visit this site for the registry cleaning feature;

I suggested using CCleaner's Registry Repair, did you try it?

If you're installed Speedy PC Pro or other scamware then it's not surprising you have problems as you've likely ruined Win7 beyond repair. What I would do is wipe the hard drive during a booted reinstall but this time follow these same steps for a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which compile everything that works best to get and keep a perfect install.

Hi gregrocker ive formatted the hard drive but i had vista full edition and my win 7 was an upgrade so now bootmgr is missing only i havent got vista anymore what an idiot i am

You can certainly reinstall with Upgrade version. Bootmgr is missing has nothing to do with that.
Follow the steps in tutorial.

Ok Greg it is now installing but what does bootmgr mean ?
