since upgrading to windows 7, I've had nothing but problems with my HP Deskjet 6988. I finally uninstalled it and started all over. Now I can get it to print with a usb connection. How do I get the computer to recognize the printer as being wireless?

Set your printer to be used via wireless connection. You might now want to Add a wireless Device or Printer?

Had the same issue; had a XP pro dual boot system, so I unplugged the USB connector and installed the wifi 6988 into xp pro (the printer needs to connect to the router/access point and set all the wifi ssid/security et. al.); once the wifi connection worked for the xp pro, I booted into Windows 7 and add printer network, Windows 7 recognized the 6988 wifi. good luck
