Hello,

I have an AMD Radeon R5 M330 graphic card. I don't understand much about the settings so I leave them to defaults. Everything works fine except that my video player, Potplayer, doesn't use the GPU for x265 10 bit encodes. It use it for all other codecs including x265 8 bits. Copy back is enabled in my Potplayer settings.

Can anyone help me to configure the driver settings for it to be able to use the GPU for 10 bit x265 encodes, if possible ?

Thank you for reading.

Hi ceo54,

I agree with Vineet Garg, it is worth trying the latest Portable VLC Media Player!

Here are just a few of the reasons why VLC is so good as a media player.
  • It is open source [the actual code can be examined closely for any tracking etc, of which there is none].
  • It has been in development for many years [1997] and is therefore stable.
  • It is still actively being developed.
  • It works with internal codecs, so there is no need to download any additional codecs/packages.
  • It plays almost everything passed to it [both Audio and Video wise].
  • It works on many platforms [you can use the same controls on your computer, smartphone, iPhone etc].
  • It also allows you to stream video around your LAN [or even the Internet].
  • Best of all, it is FREE.
I hope this helps!

I agree, it might be the player not the card. Okay I'll try the VLC and see if it changes anything.

Thank you Vineet Garg and Paul Black for helping me out.

Highly appreciated.
