Connecting SATA & Power Cables

I installed a replacement SSD for one that crashed. I reinstalled Windows 7 operating system on it and powered off computer and installed the hard drive that has the Libraries and various other programs on it. Now my computer is not seeing the hard drive or the CD/DVD. I have 2 sets of power cables with 3 on each one. Does it matter which power cable I use? I know the SATA cables go in SATA 1, SATA 2, etc. but am not sure about the power cables. It would be easier to use both because of the limited length of using just one.

The power cables come from the power supply and it doesn't matter if there's 2 or 3 connectors on the lead coming from the power supply.

Also recheck that all the leads are plugged into the motherboard & at the DVD drive & the hard drives. It's easy to inadvertently dislodge a cable when replacing parts.

Thanks a million! I now have the SSD, Hard Drive, and DVD player showing up in BIOS. What an ordeal this has been. I have a question about what to do with the hard drive in Disk Management since it wasn't showing up in My Computer. Should I make a new thread for this question?

Could you post a screen shot of Disc Management please, so we can see what's going on. To do that use the Tutorial below. There is also a link in that Tutorial on how to upload the screen shot.

Your hard drive probably just needs a letter.
