Constant Adobe Updates

Several times a week I get pop ups to update some Adobe product. Abobe reader, Adobe Air, Flash etc.. This seems overdone. Are their products so bad they need constant updates or are they (Adobe) doing something else?

Since there is nothing obviously broken, I try to stop the reminders but they don't stop. Is there a useful way to stop them?

Hi Bill .. In the Search box type > msconfig untick any Adobe products in startup and services

Start with which ones you actually use,
Reader xi is all you would really need or all I might need as far as reading pdf's,
Adobe air ? if you don't use it uninstall it,
Flash/ shockwave ? probably the most used and yes if you use any of them they need to be kept up to date otherwise they're security holes waiting to be exploited,

Thanks. It seems I actually use all you mention. Adobe Air seems to have something to do with Pandora.

I always thought it was another pdf reader + creator of pdf's ?
If you use them please keep them all up to date this is just another maintenance chore which is important

Short answer ... yes.

OTOH, they may be trying to make life more difficult for users who refuse to swap to their new software subscription service.

Stop using Adobe reader if you can. I've switched to SumatraPDF and love it.
