I've been dealing with a bsod crash for the last few weeks with no luck. it started a few weeks after i got a new graphic card, radeon 5780 and new memory OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 4 gig. the bsod happened couple of times a week but slowly they happened more and more. its never exactly the same error that comes up but usually it is a system service exception. I've reinstalled windows around four times on two different hard drives. the hard drive its on currently is brand new. I've run a memory diagnosis but not overnight, it didn't find anything. there is no warning when the bsod comes and no pattern to its occurence. it happens when i'm playing games, browsing the net or watching video or even when the computer is inactive.
this is the latest error message

I wonder if it's memory. Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder. Boot from the CD, and run at least 5 passes.

Hello !!

There was a services expection 0xc0000005 that usually casued by a Firewall or Antivirus. On addtion to Jonathan's steps I would recommend to uninstall your Antivirus / Firewall completely and run then run Removal Tools and make sure all the entries are cleared.

okay i tried the memtest 86 and it restarted when it got to 46% on the first pass. i did however try the windows memory diagnosis tool and it got 5 passes without finding an error. i will erase all antivirus programs i have. my firewall is always down, i only have the windows firewall.

Keep in mind any time Memtest reports errors, it can also be a bad motherboard slot. Test each stick individually with Memtest. If you find a stick with no errors, test it in the other slot(s).

allright. i took out one stick and tested the other one, the computer wouldn't boot. tested the other one and got no errors.then tested the original stick in the same slot. this time it booted and memtest 86 found no errors. so i switched the slots i had been using, i.e put the memories into the other two slots. this time windows wouldn't boot. so now i only have one memory stick (2g) but at least the comps working. hopefully this was it though it pains me to know that the motherboard may be fraked up. due to the nature of the problem i won't know right away of course. i'll post here in a few days if it worked so others may learn from this.
thanks for the help and lets hope this works.

Hello !!

You should run the MemTest86+ atleast 6 passes for each stick on each slot !!

It might be. If you can borrow some RAM from a friend, and test it in that slot, that would be great.

In the mean time it's time to start looking for those warranty papers. ;)

If not mentioned, update your Realtek Ethernet driver. Yours is dated February 2009.

Realtek

I would also suggest that you remove Daemon Tools/ Alcohol 120. A driver that both have in common is notorious for causing BSODs leaving dump logs with "memory corruption" written all over them.
