Solved Constant password requests

I am being frustrated with constant requests for a password. I have just started using this system and during updates the screen would go blank and I had to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to return to the desktop.

On return to the desktop the user name is displayed with the remark LOCKED and the need to enter the password.

When loading music CDs again and again the system displayed the request for a password. This happened at least once during the download sequence and at times twice for a CD with a large number of tracks.

What do I need to do to stop all this nonsense?

Hi Scunnered

Im Not sure if im reading this wrong but what it sounds like to me is you have your screen saver set to password on resume
if this is the case then all you simply need to do is right click your desktop, personalisation, screen-saver
ether change the length of idle time to a longer one or uncheck on resume, display login screen

sorry if i am misunderstanding your problem

My thanks to you both for your replies.

I had a look at the screensaver and found that it needed to be changed. Removed the tick from the resume and will see how that looks.

I am jumping between systems and it appears that this has resolved matter.

Again my thanks.
