Contacts in win 7

I have way more contacts than what is listed in my contacts folder, how do I consolidate them? And if I was to export these to windows mail, how would I do it? There are two folders on c drive containing contact information.

To import contacts to WLM, from your contacts folder click contacts\import\address book for current user.

I'm not using WLM anymore i went back to windows mail and want to get my contacts back but they all are not listed in my contacts folder.
