Solved Context menu requires click to show submenu

Hello,
I am using Windows 7 Home Premium.
Suddenly, I noticed that submenus for items such as 'Send to', 'Open with' etc have no submenu when the mouse hovers over those items. While looking for the problem on the internet I noticed that if I click on those entries the submenus would open.
I don't know what I did, but I would like to get back the default behaviour.
Any ideas where to look?

Thanks for the reply, but those links just explain how to add and delete items on the context menu.
I have what I want on the context menu, I just want the default behaviour back - that is, hover over an item and the submenu appears instead of having to click it.

Hi,
The context menus sliding open or appearing is a system effects choice
Click start and type in the search box
advanced system settings
Hit enter or click on the suggestion
Advanced/ Visual effects settings button,
See what's up there I have most of the sliding and fading effects off,

Found the problem.
After more searching on google, I found a post here at Windows 7 forum:

It was the Menu Delay Time in the registry set to 65000 something. As the post originator stated, if I would wait around long enough the submenu would open.

Why the setting changed I'll never know.

So the problem was not that it didn't work, it just worked to slow.
I didn't know the Time Delay could even be set at 65000.

I personally use 40. Plenty fast for me.
