hey folks =)

i'm looking for a way/tool to customize the context menu in explorer.

having installed a couple of tools, i find my context menu very messy. there's stuff in it, which i've never made use of, yet it clutters so much space.

so,
is there any way without fiddling around with the uac?

thanks in advance.

regards

jan.

Which programs you have already used? What is the exact problem? (Better if you can post Screenshot).

UAC or registry?

You can do from registry. But you have to do one by one. Also you need to know the values of the reg.

Here is up to what I know; you have to modify it and add more values to make yours one. Click here.

Look for the other thread hyperlinks below the tutorial.

hey hey,

thanks for the reply.

i haven't tried out any tool so far; i've been looking around, but found nothing that would do what i need.

what i want to do is: remove specific lines from the context menu (e.g. adobe drive - i never make use of it).
i am aware that it's doable via registry, but i was hoping to get linked to some sort of tool that does that job for me. some tools i've come across mess with the uac, hence the remark that i don't want to do that.

anyway, i'll have a look at your links to find out how to remove the entries manually from the registry.

thanks so far =)

jan.

thanks again!

the nirsoft tools seem to do the trick.

however, i haven't found a way to sort the entries. that's not much of a problem, but i still wonder if such a tool is available.

jan

And how to change or disable the shortcut keys for each item in the context menu? For example Open has _O_pen, how to change to Op_e_n or similar?

First if the underlines are disabled, you have to enable them here:
Ease of Access Center -> Make the keyboard easier to use ->
[x] Underline keyboard shortcuts and access keys
