Copy and paste

I cannot copy from a Word or Excel document to either Word, Excel or to the body of Mail. The copy part works but the paste option is still grayed out. Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V is not working either. Can someone please help.

What you can paste depends on the type and format of what is copied, and if that data type is acceptable to where you want to paste it. Do a test where you only copy/paste plain text and see it that works. In Notepad for example.

You can also try Ctrl+Shift+V as paste method for copied text. That will skip any formatting and only paste plain text.

In Word/Excel try the Paste Special tool to maybe get a hint if any other paste methods is possible. Or view the Clipboard(from the Home tab) and verify that what you copy is really copied to the Clipboard.

Thank You Tookeri, I honestly think I have a problem with Windows or Office on that PC. All worked fine until a week ago. I will do a re-installation of Office early next week and will give feedback. The PC is doing all kinds of funny stuff now, new funny stuff. Greetings and have a super weekend!
