Copy files to phone by replacing a few but low space

So I want to copy a few files from my PC to my phone which are about 100 MB.
They are in a folder with a thousand other files so I am just gonna copy the whole folder of 1000 files are put them in the phone's folder replacing the ones that already exist.
Problem is, before checking which ones exist, Windows directly tells me that there is less space on the phone even though there is way more than 100 MB on my phone.

How do I solve this?

Why copy the entire folder rather than just the files you want to transfer?

Cause they are a lot and scattered all across the same folder.
