Copy Office 2007 installation disc , how

I have a retail copy of Office 2007 (multiple user) including product keys and registration keys
How can I make a copy of the original installation disc before the original deteriorates.
- I want to keep the backup off site in case of IT disasters in our office
- we recently suffered a lot of serious damage to our office due to 5 days of severe weather.

So far I have started investigating this DuckDuckGo search
There are several links that are advocating ISO files ... but with no experience with ISO files I am floundering.
- or can I make a copy/clone of my disc (not sure if my terminology is correct)

I would appreciate any guidance.

I think you simply would copy the disk, using any number of programs that deal with optical disks. My fave is cdburnerxp for ease of use, others are ISOBurn, nero, etc. You can also take regular system images of your machines, so the whole machine could be restored in the event of calamity.

You could do either or both. The simplest way to do it would be to create a disk. But you could create an ISO and use it to make disks any time thereafter.

What type of CD/DVD disc should I use ?
- there is a plethora of CDs and DVDs "types" but I don't know which one to use

What little I know ... DVDs have more capacity than CDs but would the resulting DVD start an install. ?
- or would the copy only be a copy and not an installation disc
- or should I use a CD ?
- and what "type"

If you make a DVD from the ISO it should be an installation disc.

Definitely use a DVD, it should not really matter what type of DVD you use. A CD will not have enough capacity..

The capacity of a CD is about 700 mb.
The capacity of a DVD is about 4.7 gb.
