copy protection message using same TV

I have windows media center set up with a cable card and a Hauppauge DCR-2650. It frequently generates a message saying the program is copy protected and must be viewed on the same TV. It is only connected to one Sony TV by a HDMI cable. Of course most of the time, the power to the TV is off when a scheduled recording is being done.

The computer is running Windows 7 Ultimate.

The channels being recorded are local broadcast channels (available off the air) but are being viewed through Verizon FIOS.

Is there any solution for this?

As it seemed there was no one with a solution, I took the ultimate approach. Reload everything on a re-formatted disk. This time things worked differently. Everything appears to work. I even have the DCR-2650 apparently always connecting when the computer comes out of sleep by powering the DCR-2650 when the computer goes into sleep.

I think the fact that a hauppauge 1600 had been installed on this system caused some problems when the DCR-2650 was installed.
