Copying Images

I know that some websites disable right click to prevent copying images, but when the download window does open when saving one, and yet it does not appear in the file manager, but still appears in the download window, if attempting to repeat the save, does that mean that the file is somehow protected by the website?

I'm a little confused about the question Seeker.
But I'm dense at times. Unless I need a full size pic I just use PrntScrn and then open it in Paint or some GFX software.

Print screen wouldn't work, because the images are small thumbnails, like on Google or other websites. However, you gave me an idea to try...I will see what happens when using the Snipping Tool.

Sometimes you can work around the problem. First, with many images, if you merely left-click on them, you can often get a larger image. That gives you several additional choices:

When you right-click an image, you normally get several choices, including "Copy" and "Save picture as." If you're trying to just "copy" the image, and when right-clicking, you don't get the "Copy" option, try left-clicking on the image to see if it will enlarge, and then using prt scrn or the Snipping tool, and pasting the image into a Word doc to just copy it. Even if you can't enlarge it with a left-click, you can still definitely enlarge it after you've pasted it into Word. You may lose a bit of the clarity though.

If you want a .jpg, you would click on "Save picture as," and then paste the image into (or save the image to) Paint or other photo editor, and you'll get your .jpg image. And again, if you need to enlarge the image, you can do so after you've pasted into your photo editing app.

I sometimes will have this happen, but the pic doesn't go where I expect it to. It sometimes winds up in the Public folders. I have no idea why.

Yes, I haven't had any of them end up in public documents, because I always save them to a dedicated folder on another drive. The only time that something like that might happen, is when they end up in a similar folder in Documents within a particular program's directory, which happens because both folders have the same name, and I don't notice which the save is set to. I guess that I need to rename one of the folders, but if I do I think that the program using that folder would lose navigation to it, and I might have to browse to each of ~ 1600 images to reset it. Yet, the problem happens even when the right save location is set properly, sometimes. In those instances, I can at times copy/paste them from the Save window to some other unrelated folder, and they will appear there as they should, and then I can return them to where I need them, and then they will appear there as they should have in the first place. Yet, in some cases, not even that helps.

Wow. That's a tough one. As far as the right click-save, thing goes, do you have something like NoScript running in your browser. I've had that prevent me from saving before with Google Images, but it just outright refuses, there's no download without a save going on. That's very bizarre.
