My C drive is nearly full, I want to move quite a bit of executable files to another internal drive, but I still want to launch from desktop is that possible? or don't I have a launch shortcut on another drive. Please advise your thoughts most appreciated.

Moving installed applications to another drive is very problematic and prone to error. Shortcuts to the files are the least of the problems.

Cheers for the input. I have looked at YouTube but it looks sketchy at most, and I am inclined to agree, okay for pdf files word docs, mp3's, but I was hoping to put some big gigabite programs like Roxio, CS6, Brittanica etc

There is a way to change the system setup so that apps are installed to another partition, instead of the default one that contains the OS -- but it's VERY involved and only works for apps installed AFTER the changes are made. All other apps then have to be uninstalled and reinstalled to be "moved" to the other partition.

Easiest way is to uninstall and reinstall to the new drive. But if you're handy with editing the registry, it's no big deal.
It can be a bit tedious or not, depending on the number of registry entries.
And you should familiarize yourself with saving the registry before attempting it.

Thanks for the detailed support, been away to London for a couple of days, anyway does not sound easy, I need about 10 gig spare on my SSD, also have have hundreds of gig on my 2 x 500 gig internal Sata hdd's, plus about 6 external usb hdd's, don't know how I let it get like this, idleness is the answer, so by hook or by crook, I've got to set aside a couple of days to get on top this situation. Once again cheers for all your input.
