Hi guys, today a customer brought back an Asus netbook.
The problem was on boot up, windows always went to system repair (I think thats what its called, it was mandatory to run) and stays on that page.

After inspecting the netbook, there was quite a big crack on the bottom of the laptop, so obviously has been dropped. Anyway I said I would give it a go in fixing, but this is what has happened so far...

1. I ran system restore to see if that helps, after getting to 100%, the netbook restarted, but would always come up bootmgr is missing.

2. I ran system restore once more, and this time, after it got to 100%, it restarted, and this time came up with the error boot bcd error 0xc00000e9 (It says to run a repair using a disc)

3. I ran the windows 7 starter disc, and used system repair, and it came up saying saying everything was successful.

4. I decided to reformat using the disc, the hard drive appears and everything is normal, I format the hard drive and then continue to reinstall. The installation is stuck on 0% the whole time, and I know the disc works fine. I used a second disc to make sure, but again, it sticks on 0%.

I am sure the damage on the back has done something to brake the laptop, I am just not sure what. When I go to format the hard drive, it appears in the list, so its present and seems to be working. At 0% the disc just isn't even spinning.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Might want to run a HDD diagnostic from the manufacture's hard drive website .

If you have a spare HDD, try that.

When you format, use the 'Quick' option. Else it can take a long time.
