does core parking on a I7 help performance . i can see at idle i have 4 cores parked

Heh some people seem to think so but it's kind of ridiculous, the cores will unpark in a picosecond when needed. Same with turning off the speed step or other variable clocking mechanisms that also save power and heat. The CPU will hit full speed /instantly/ when needed.
