Hi guys,

I have a lot of corrupted icons on my work computer. I am using Dell Optiplex 7010 which is on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.

I have done the below to try to resolve the issue:
> Delete the iconcache.db file then restarted the explorer.exe process
> Recreated my roaming profile
> Restarted computer
> Also followed the guidance on Broken or missing icons in Windows 7/8

I have logged into a different user on my computer (the domain administrator) and the icons appear fine, it is just on my user.

I have looked on google and all I could find that was helpful was to do the above things, but the issue still remains.

Can anyone advise what else I could try please?

Thanks,
Dan

Fist of all, you must find what corrupted the icons.
- Scan with antivirus.
- Schedule a disk check (chkdsk c: /f)
- Do a system file check (sfc /scannow)

Hello, thanks for the advice.

I ran all those but still alot of the icons are corrupt.

AV scan = no viruses
sfc = repaired corrupt files, I then restarted
chkdsk = i kicked this off over my lunch break and came back to the OS loaded. But still an issue.
