Hi all,
A strange one for my first post.
On start up could not get passed the splash screen.
Rebooted several times....no luck.
Recovery disk I made 18 months ago when I built the rig, would not go past the"set up is starting" screen
Tried to boot from Windows 7 DVD...same problem as with recovery disc.
Disconnected my C:\ drive in an attempt to install windows on one of my storage drives....same problem.
Then on about the twentieth reboot it ran chkdsk and its now running fine.
I like to know why things go wrong, so I can fix it next time if it happens....but this one has me baffled. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi.
Thanks for the reply. The SSD is just over two and a half years old and I updated the firmware about 18 months ago, I will check for later releases. Yes the OS is on the SSD, and CHKDSK did not report any errors.
The thing I can't get my head round is that when I removed the SSD, and tried to install on one of my storage drives the same problem occured i.e. hung on the "set up is starting" screen. Surely the DVD would see this as a new fresh install, as there is no OS present, or am I missing something basic here?
Thanks again for the reply, any further suggestions would be welcome.
Cheers

Just to update you, I was running firmware 1916 so updated to 2030 just now, all seems stable. I will keep you informed if any problems occur. I still would welcome some more comments on the problem though.
Thanks
