counter strike source freeze prob

i have a problem with playing css. it started when i intalled win7 on my computer. me and my brother are both playing css. we have 2 computers. right after the instalation of os there have been problem while playing css. while we play css the game freezes from time to time for a second or 2. it is annoying...i tried using different router (linksys wrt54gl and netgear wgr614) and it doesn't help. i have to tell that we BOTH have the same problem. my brother has xp and not win7. we both have wireless cards linksys wmp54g.

Hi fishy,

This could be a number of things. First, are you running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7? What about your brother on his XP machine? What operating system were you running before Windows 7, and was it on the same machine or a different one? What was your experience playing CS:Source before upgrading to Windows 7?

In the meantime, be sure to try running CSS under Compatibility Mode for Windows XP, as explained here: [http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html]

i am using 64bit system. and my brother is using 32bit xp. before win7 i used the same os as my brother and we had no problem. i tried as you said with compability mode for xp but it was the same problem. i had to right click on the steam icon and click troubleshoot compability because i couldn't do it as was described below.

You most likely need to update your video drivers here: Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM (You can download just the Display Driver if you don't need Catalyst control center)

Are you playing CSS on the lan with just the 2 of you or are you playing on the net with other people?
If you are playing on a Lan and you both freeze, then I would suspect something with your machine, since that seems like the only variable that has changed.

If you are playing on the net with others and you both are freezing at the same time, then it would have to be your wireless network.

Tell us what game mode you are playing, on lan (which one of you starts the server) , on the net.

I play CSS almost daily with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and have no issues.

we are playing on internet...blob didnot work...i think it has to be something with network...but i changed 2 routers...and we both have exellent signal...
