Counter Strike Source Issues

Hello I am new to these forums and I need your help,

I have just finished downloading Counter Strike: Source on my laptop. However whenever I try to start it up on steam the CSS background appears for only a moment then the program shuts down. Next a window comes up and says, Engine Error, Platform Error: module failed to initialize. This happens every time and I have already reinstalled the game multiple times and nothing has changed.

Could someone please help me?

Hi there,

In Steam, go to File > Settings > In-game, and disable Steam community in-game option. If that alone doesn't work, check these two forums:
