Counter Strike: Source serious lagg

hey im running Windows 7 Ultimate and whenever i play Counter Strike Source, my fps is 50-70 normally, but i am getting regular lagg from my pc, not internet, and my pc will freeze and the sound will loop for a few seconds and then the game will resume. I had windows xp before windows 7 and i could play counter strike absolutely fine with no issues. anyone know of a reason or fix?

try disabling aero and visual themes. your specs are a little marginal.

whats marginal? does that mean bad? i reckon so lol. i realised i downloaded the 6 series drivers for my 8 series gfx card by accident so i got the new drivers for 8 series, now its fine but my internet seems to be slightyly laggier...

thanks fumz but i dont have pc lagg anymore, just internet lagg
