I mostly play NFS World on my laptop, after very few minutes of gameplay for some reason my CPU stays at 100% all the time until I exit the game and because of that I get very bad performance. Is there anything that stop this from happening? (I am not running anything at the background)

Try lowering settings like resolution, anti aliasing and shadows ,reflections ect. What ever settings the game has,I know nfs most wanted had some settings like that.

Intel Core 2Duo 2.0Ghz, NVIDIA Geforce 9400M G, 4GB Ram.

I have everything on the lowest settings, like I said I start the game and I have some good fps but once my CPU reaches 100% my fps can drop to 15fps or even less.

Almost sounds like it could be thermal throttling due to overheating. Have you checked to make sure the cooling vents/fans are open and not full of dust?

The game uses a lot of memory from what I see. (the pictures that I attached aren't from today but you can see the results)

Does the laptop just meets or does it exceeds the minimum requirements for the game? It could be that NFS is that much of a Hog with CPU.

The only other thing I saw taking a bit of the CPU was your Antimalware, perhaps you can disable it while you play? Also, check your msconfig and see what is starting up with windows, perhaps there are things you don't need there? Adobe or any other software that starts even if you hardly use it?

Also, how are the cooling temps?

Well from what I see it exceeds the minimum requirements for the game. To be honest I also noticed that Microsoft Security Essentials (it's the only one that I have ticked to run at startup) is also using lots of resources without me using it so I will try your suggestion.

About the cooling temps, give me a few more days while I test that.

If the heat does get too high, you can always invest in a good cooling pad for the laptop.

The cooling pad that I have currently is also pretty good.

Well, looking at your pc components and at task manager, everything seems to be ok, cause game uses not that much of resourses. That lag could be bug in game or in drivers, you should search for some game performance tests with your graphics and similar cpu, and see if they have similar problem. Also you could try to disable antivirus software and other similar programs, check temperatures, and you can check event viewer for errors, that might be related to that lag. Do you have any other performance problems with your pc in other games or programs ?

To be honest I only played a few games on my laptop. Counter-Strike 1.6 is okay with some minor fps drops = nothing wrong; Need for Speed World is the game where I have these massive fps drops when my CPU is at 100% and Auto Club Revolution isn't worth mentioning because after I checked the system requirements I don't even reach the minimum requirements. I disabled the protection from Microsoft Security Essentials last night and it didn't look like it made any improvement, can you tell me where I can go to that event viewer? I'm pretty sure that I have thousands of errors there because last year for some reason my laptop was affected by the "Black Screen of Death".

has it ever occured to maybe switch to 64 bit win 7 add more ram and the CPU usage will probably drop

that is if you feel like spending some money for an upgrade and if you have a OEM windows even better get rid of all that useless junk that comes with the laptop from the maker

But finding driver might be the hard part since you are using a 9400m GPU but some research you could get it working alot more efficient with more ram and a 64bit windows
