I recently bought a Radeon HD 7850, but I don't think i'm getting the most out of it. I have a AMD FX-4 4100 Black Edition 4 Core 3.6Ghz Socket AM3+ 8MB L3, it's quite old but i'm not sure if it's causing a bottleneck. I also have 8GB of ram.

Skyrim, Far cry 3, tomb raider, Crysis 3. All at ultra/high settings except for Crysis, I use 1680 x 1050 BTW because I have a old old VGA monitor.

It may be worth toning the settings down a bit to be honest mate. I have a 7850-DC2T that's overclocked in my backup rig and I had to tone it down in Bioshock Infinite as I was getting stuttering, it certainly wouldn't handle Crysis 3 on high/ultra.

Give that a try and let us know how you get on.

Yeah, and to be further honest, that 7850 isn't the most performance riddled card in the 7000's lineup. I can't really say it's even mid range, but...

a 7850 is a little better then a 6870 and a single 6870 is a good card but to play max settings you would need 2 cards like I previously owned

The guys here are giving you the best advice for that resolution one card the best settings would be medium high anything above that will cause issues

also if you have the latest drivers could be a issue with that too

These guys pretty much gave you a good idea so hopefully that resolved your issue
