CPU fan is now louder after playing a game at 100% usage

I was playing a PC game and put around 30 hours into it. It always had the CPU at 100% usage. The fan got much louder than it usually ever was. This is the first time I played a game that stressed the CPU that much, I think.

Now, when I play any other game, be it a native PC game or an emulated console game, it makes the same noise even when running at 50% and under. It never did this before.

My PC does not seem to be overheating, as it has never crashed or turned off. The performance of my games is the same as they always been. I was worried I may have damaged the CPU, but this does not seem to be the case?

It is a bit warmer in here due to the weather at this time of year, but I do not remember the computer making this noise last year.

Is this something to be worried about?

Check the fan and heat sync for dust that often causes it

I suppose that would be a good idea.

I have not cleaned the inside of the computer in a while and last time I did there was a bunch of cat fur in the heatsink and on the fans.

Thank you for the reminder.

The harder I work my car, the higher the engine temp will get.
Same thing with my PC. I don't game, but I do run utilities that work the CPU pretty hard, and I download BIG files, like OS's, that also work the CPU.

Just as a part of good Maintenance, I remove the heat-sink and fan for the CPU once a year, and clean and re-oil the fan and wash the heat-sink with soap and water. Then I apply new heat sink grease and reinstall the whole Fan & Heat-sink assembly.

I do the same thing when customers of mine complain of a noisy CPU fan.
I have great pic's of a heat-sink and fan, FULL of white lint. That customer has their PC sitting on a white carpet. Some folks just never learn. "Never set a PC on the floor!"

Good Luck!
