CPU graphics compatability

The CPU I am talking about, is the AMD FX6300 on my Asus M5A78L- M LE board. ATI 3000 graphics onboard.

In my "Bits Boxes", I have several older graphics cards: 2x Gigabyte HD4350 (one with 512Mb, one has 1GB.) 1x Asus AMD 6770 and 1x Sapphire 4850. My questions being, (a) are any or all of these cards compatible with the CPU? (b) would it be worth installing one of them? The simple board has only one PCI - E slot, so anything along the Crossfire lines, is out and I don't want anything complex, I am not a Gamer, but I do have a TV card, which does not work as well without the 6770 that was in my previous (dead) board. The picture is not as sharp and I use the TV card to watch stuff which my missus does not like.

I would appreciate any advice. If another card is recommended, please keep in mind that this must be at a budget price, as I intend to sell this desktop in a few months and buy a laptop as a desktop replacement.

All of your cards would be compatible with the CPU, so no worries there.

I would install the 6770, as its the most capable card of the lot, and you can still get drivers for it from AMD.

Agreed no doubt the 1gb cards are the only ones worth messing with
512mb heck your on-board graphic's is probably better :)

Appreciate that :)

Gpu's are dropping nicely and it is a good time to get at least a 2gb card the evga 960's are ripe for the picking in the 200.us range possibly cheaper on black Friday at Newegg or Amazon ;)
NVidia rules and might make the sell a little easier ;)

I'd use the 4850 if DirectX capability doesn't matter to you most.

I have used that Radeon HD 3000 and was suprised it even ran GTA IV at around 25-30 FPS on low-medium settings.

Completely agree.
Drivers support is slow?/ended for 4850 and 6770 (has newer drivers but support for it is slow?/ended) is least bottleneck for that system (also in terms of power usage and overall performance 6770 is the winner but 4850 has higher bus width).
