cpu red light constantly blinking

Hi there you all,
I had this problem before when I had windows XP as my OS.
And now I have the same problem, well actually i don't know if it's a problem but it bothers me when i see this red light blinking all the time as it makes me think my hard drive is in pain.
When I had XP all I had to do was turning off cd autorun editing the Registry, restart my computer and voila!, no more constant blinking.
I did the same with windows 7 64bit but it did not work.

I wonder if there's anyone out there having the same issue that could share a little knowledge with me so i can solve this..

Do you mean the blinking hard drive activity light on the outside of your case?
I think this is normal as many others have asked about it.
I wouldn't worry about the small stuff.

If this is the HDD light on the outside of your case - then it indicates that some application is reading or writing to the hard drive. If it is the occasional blink - a little activity every 20 - 30 seconds, that is normal for most users. But if it is constant, steady activity, while that condition could be "normal" for some configurations, it is not necessary.

Normal applications (like anti-virus) when running would normally exhibit this constant, steady activity. If it were me I would want to know what was running constantly in the background and why.

But malware can also run constantly, so you should be sure to do a full sweep with good AV and spyware programs to see.

The blinking is every half a second or something , it never stops and it's totally constant, i mean, like a heart beat...

Are you hearing any clicking noises associated with your pc?
If not then you are seeing the activity light on the outside of your tower case, as long as it is intermittent then you should have no worries.
If you do hear a noise associated with hard drive activity your hard drive may begin to go into failure.

I have several W7 machines at home. I have one with an ASUS P5N7A-VM motherboard with an nVidia chipset. When I rebuilt it with W7 and enabled AHCI, the HD access light started flashing at about once per second. It does this constantly. While it is slightly annoying, that's all it seems to be. The system works fine.
