Hey there I've scanned my drivers with ESET and it says cpuz136 is unknown, google tells me it's malicous... if so how can I remove it?

"cpuz136" = "c:\users\thomas\appdata\local\temp\cpuz136\cpuz136_x64.sys"

Thanks in advance!

that version of CPUZ is old it could be a potential virus file use

MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) and do a scan if you don't have a virus protection of your own

also a link to the latest Cpuz Download CPU-Z 1.66.1 - FileHippo.com

I've tried locating the file myself but it is not there.
ESET and MBAM do not detect anything MBAM Anti Rootkit doesn't detect anything aswell.
How can I remove the file?

Maybe clear the internet cache and clean the cookies that would be the other place because you didn't download anything yet right ?

I know it's a bit late but I had this - it was bringing up a RunDLL error on power-up: "There was a problem starting C:\Program The specified module could not be found." I removed it by running a scanner called Autoruns from TechNet [www.sysinternals.com] which he said is supported by Microsoft. I ran it and found a dozen (highlighted in yellow) that I removed.
No problems now but don't follow my suggestion until someone here with expertise approves this!

Hi, @Taffy078:

As this thread was started in August 2013, there's a good chance that the OP is no longer following it.
Perhaps the OP found a solution by now, and much has likely changed with the OP's system/drivers since then.:)

Thanks for your suggestion, though.

Cheers,
MM

yeah, you're right. But on the general point, is Autoruns a program that you'd recommend?
