Hi Guys,

I wonder if anyone could help me. Recently I've been having issues with my computer randomly crashing or restarting. There's no blue screen as such it just seems to restart.

The Action Centre claims there's a problem with my Graphics card but can't seem to find solutions.

I've attached a folder with the crash logs etc.

Any help would be great thanks,

Nick

Welcome!

It does appear to be a graphics issue. Check out this article on bugcheck 116: http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...op-0x116-video_tdr_error-troubleshooting.html

Install these nVidia drivers: NVIDIA DRIVERS 258.96 WHQL

I see your very old (2004) Broadcom wireless drivers are blamed. Please update them to the latest version.

Install these chipset drivers: NVIDIA DRIVERS 15.51 WHQL

Remove Semantic 2009 (known to cause BSODs on Vista and 7 machines): ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

Replace it with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

If you get more BSODs, please follow our BSOD Posting Instructions sticky: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

Hello Again,

I tried the steps Jonathan suggested but am still having some issues. Are they the same problems or new ones? Can anyone tell me what might be going wrong or point me in the right direction? Thank in advance

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks again for taking the time to look at my problem.

I removed the Norton and Installed the MSE. Then I installed the NVIDIA Driver and Chip Sets for a second time but it hasn't helped.

I'm now having an issue with my Graphics Card not working. The Action Center acknowledges there's a problem but doesn't have a solution.

Can anyone recommended any course of action Or a Driver that might work?

I attached the new System File zips etc.

Thanks again

Nick

Here's what the Action Center reports:
1. Verify the correct driver is installed.
2. Try updating the drivers using Windows Update.
3. Check with the manufacturer for an updated driver.
4. Attempt to uninstall and then reinstall the device using Device Manager.

Try removing your graphics drivers with Driver Sweeper, then reinstalling these ones: NVIDIA DRIVERS 258.96 WHQL

This didn't work I'm afraid.

I don’t really know what to do now. I’ve seen a few threads on other forums with similar issues as I’m having. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any clear course of action. Has a dodgy driver update scrambled my GPU and it’s drivers for good...It seems that way...

Just a warning to anyone trying the above step. If you remove all traces of your driver and things associated with it might remove your network adapter drivers. This happened to me.

Could be the graphics drivers and network adapter drivers are both part of the nForce chipset, and the removal of the GFX drivers messed with the network adapter drivers.

Try installing the nForce drivers again: NVIDIA DRIVERS 258.96 WHQL

Hi Jonathan,

You're right. I already managed to find the network adapter drivers using my laptop and moved them across to my PC. Still no luck with my graphics card driver though.

I've tried those a few times.

I've tried to uninstall and clean install all the drivers you suggested. I’ve tried removing all traces of the drivers using driver sweeper about 10 times now too. But to no avail.

I've tried to access the Nvidia Control panel but i get an error message "You are currently not using a display attached to a Nvidia GPU". The device manager shows the exclamation mark against both cards with the code 43 error.

I really appreciate your help so far. I've run out of ideas.
