Crazed font setting for (some) dialogs

Greetings,

This is my first post here. I am an experienced Windows user (XP, 98, 3.1, DOS) but new to Win 7.

I run a minimalist user interface, no airo, classic windows. Im not sure when i developed this problem, but some of my system dialog boxes are pushed out of shape (I am assuming) buy a font setting somewhere.

As you can see, the right hand side of the window contents is cut off by the frame of the window, which cannot be sized.

I have changed every font in the personalize dialog and this problem is never solved.

Any help would be appreciated

Last time I saw something like this it was due to some corrupted localization-related files.

Didn't know about this utility.

I ran it, but it did not change this problem.

Improper installation of other languages for Windows or modification of language files could cause that thing.

Go to Control panel -Personalization and try to apply several Aero themes: Windows 7 Aero, Architecture, Landscapes, etc.
See if that changes anything.

Thanks for the help here, but it was a font problem. I went to a site describing how to change default font in win7, I could not cure my problem (as I already knew) by setting a new font, but in the screen-shot of the font being changed FROM was "Segoe UI", so I reloaded that font (with difficulty) and that solved my problem.

However it is that your supposed to be able to designate fonts used by the system, it is not entirely working.

Win 7, too many nonsensical draconian safety features and too many resource eating googaws spoiling what is basically a good operating system. MicroSoft not only selling you the fruit, but telling you exactly how and where and when you have to eat it.
