Not clear what you are asking, or what you have done.

Did you create another partition from the existing windows partition - then merge them?

What app. did you use to do that?

Is that the full error message?

Do you have a window 7 installation dvd/usb?

I don´t have a DVD since the system is in a partition within Acer. The solution was "Alt + F10". The support from Acer did not tell me that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The problem is solved.

If Acer has an e-Recovery program (?under folder Acer) then there may be the option "Create Factory Default Disk". This will let you burn 2 factory recovery DVDs for safe keeping as a second way to get back to factory settings.

OK. Thank You for the tip. I will look it up. The sad thing about this isue is that Acer support adviced me to create a bootable f-disk which I know understand is for DOS. Windows 7 is not DOS, and Acer support could have suggested "try ALT + F10" to see if that will help instead of this stupid advice. I mean they are asking for serienummer.

My personal experience with Acer support has been very bad. Someone who has just bought their brand new Acer computer looks at the user guide like my one - what a joke!

I know nothing about an Acer "DOS" disk. I think when they said f-disk they must be referring to the factory recovery disk(s). I referred to these above. Again, I suggest you make them if you can. Another important (vital) DVD to burn is a "System Repair" disk on the Backup & Restore Screen. This is an Microsoft bootable repair disk.

I also suggest you try to get your head around "Imaging your computer" using the in built windows imaging tool and the free Macrium Reflect. I would say imaging is the single most important (vital) tool you can have to recover easily and quickly from disaster along with the "System Repair Disk".

I agree what You are writing about SystemImageBackup and System Repair Disk. On my other Pc I am doing regulary ( every month) a SystemImageBackup. I will do the same with this Acer know.
Regarding disk. They did not refer to factory recovery disk, beliive me on that. We where 2 personen and I did ask several time because I was not sure was the support was meaning.
