My step father has some Divx movie files and he wants to put them on a DVD or in DVD format so they can be played in his DVD player (non PC DVD player). His player does not support Divx playback as some models do like mine which is a cheap basic player and he has a deluxe model...go figure. What is the method to do this? I have the following programs which I believe can get the job done but I normally am using my softwares to remove DVD content and convert it...they are Xilisoft Video Converter, DVDFab 8, Nero, and of course the built in tools that Win 7 has. He has all but Nero but I can get that to him if needed.
If some other additional software is needed or it can be done with one of the programs I listed please advise me how to do it so I can help him out. This certain process is something I have never done and have no knowledge in this area. He did try one thing last night with Xilisoft and he used it to convert the Divx file to DVD format and then burned the file to a DVD and he said his player just gave an error that it couldn't read the disk but his PC played it fine. That is all we have tried so far.
